Click on the square tool, and have the ‘Rounded corners Rectangle’ Selected, if not, just click and hold and choose the second one in the Menu. Set the Radius to 30px and create a square similar to the diagram.

Right Click on this layer and Click on ‘Layer Styles’ and copy the above settings

Create a new Layer and make a rectangle similar to the one in the image.



Then Enter the ‘Layer Styles’ of this layer and copy the settings shown above. (Later I’ll show how to make it ‘on’ rather than off’, so you will have a choice on how to make it either turned on or off.

Create a new layer, Create the shape that will make the shine on the screen. Then make the layer 10% opacity.

Now make a circle as shown. Place the rulers (To do this, drag the rulers form the top and the side and place them according), like what I did and select the ellipse tool, Then hold alt to extend from the center and shift key to enlarge uniformly and this will form a perfect circle (alt + shift) and give it a Solid Black Colour, by clicking on the layer on the colour and choose the blackest possible colour.

Repeat the top step but make a smaller one in the middle, then Enter it’s layer style like previous steps and copy the following settings

If everything went well, You should end up with something like this. Now lets do the decals on the scroll wheel. Use the text tool to make the text ‘menu’ and the others we’ll do them very easily with either the pen tool (which is the best) or else use the lasso tool. I used Arial Small Cap for the menu text. And the pen tool for the decals. (if you can’t use the pen tool) I’ll have a tutorial about it in the future ;)

Finally Lets make the reflective environment like Apple ☺ To do this, we first place everything (the layers) in a folder then duplicate the folder, then go to Layer >> Merge Group to merge the folder. Scale it down so that the ipod will be inverted, Place it 1 px lower than the proper original one and give it a 25% opacity….Finally Erase / Mask the reflection accordingly. If you followed all the tutorial correctly you should end up with something like this. If by any chance you got stuck or cause you’re lazy or wanna rip this ipod, You got the PSD here :P
